Denim Dress and Red | Classic Casual Style over 40

Denim Pinafore Dress & Red Stripes | Casual Style over 40 | Fake Fabulous

This is such a classic look.
No groundbreaking silhouettes or challenging colour combinations.
Just an easy outfit, perfect for any casual occasion.

It's nice to move away from jeans from time to time, isn't it?

This dress and cropped top combination feels like a slightly more interesting version of jeans and a tee.

It feels girly but more grown up!
A contradiction in style terms.

So comfortable and easy... my kind of dressing!

Some simple, pared back accessories finished things off perfectly.
{Although I can barely fit anything in this tiny bag!!}

Without jeans, what's your idea of a classic casual look?
Chinos?
A Denim Skirt?
Athleisure?

Please share in the comments... I'd love to hear!

    1. Thank you Jodie.
I thought so too but I struggle to style it in colder weather... tights don't seem to work.

  5. You're adorable, as always. This is a very charming look with some extra oomph from that necklace and other accessories!

I always love a denim dress but prefer something with a looser fit for myself. And probably really prefer chambray to denim. It's so easy to move around in.

    1. I can see why Bettye... this dress IS very stiff and I struggled to get my boobies in it (I never thought I'd ever say that!! LOL.
However, I do love the rigidness of thick denim.
It feels like "proper" clothes... if that makes sense??!!

  6. I like the way you're styling your hair with a little swept back section in front. You're showing us more of your lovely face! You rock a pixie so well Sam!
A denim coverall jumper (U.S. term for it) is one of those perfect, not too casual looks, that is just so much fun to wear! I still can't believe how many rounds of the coverall I've seen come back into fashion in my 66 years!

    1. A denim coverall jumper...blimey!
That makes me think of a gigantic sweater, made of knitted denim strands... right to the floor.
I love these differences in our language... so colourful and beautiful.
