Faux fur coats and over the knee boots... together!?
Hmmm.
They sound like a trashy combination don't they?
{Maybe a potential costume for the winter version of pretty woman!}
Pretty cheap looking.
More nasty than classy.
BUT....
Faux fur coats don't have to be sleazy and cheesy.
They can be fun to wear, and even stylish!
As for over the knee boots...
They don't need to be in red patent with a 5 inch heel.
They can be cool, comfortable and easy to wear too!
Today's outfit was a joy to wear, and warm as toast.
In true Fake Fabulous style it involved little (read: no) effort, and was as easy a pie to throw on.
Jeans, boots, a poloneck jumper and a coat.
Ready to rock and roll!
It's a fuzzy cheater.
My OTK boots are easy to pull on, and stop all thought of hemlines clashing or matching hosiery to footwear.
I just popped on a pair of fun legwarmers to add interest to the area between my boot and my jeans, and they keep my knees warm too!
A simple bag and a cosy hat finished things off nicely.
No joke.
{Even warmer than THIS furry beast!}

It's cool eh Suzy?
DeleteI think it helps when the colours are in your palette, this is definitely an autumn coloured coat ... apart from the black bits of course! :oP
Thank you for your kind words.

Superb coat! Love the whole outfit. That's the joy of a statement coat; it does most of the work for you, and you look amazing! PS: voted as well! xxx
ReplyDeleteAwwww... thank you so much Lisa!
DeleteYou are very kind.
You are the mistress of the statement coat, so that means a lot.
Go bold or go home :o)

ReplyDeleteI love your coat, all those colors and the interesting pattern, and also love your boots, they always look so comfy & cool! (such a great idea to add those leg warmers with the little bow!)
besos

Your faux fur is pretty special Samantha and when you claimed that it creates the outfit I had to agree completely! The design and unique combination of colors in this coat really raise the impact of the whole outfit. Pieces like this are wonderful to own. Those are also really high quality, nice boots . They look well made and the leather has a lovely finish. The little knee warmers (?) are so cute with the bows at the side.
ReplyDeleteThank you so much Judy!
DeleteThe boots are that lovely marked and almost 'flawed' leather that is super smooth in texture.
I do love them and I'm so glad you like them too!!

Okay, at first it did sound like a description of a hooker from Starsky & Hutch ;) but actually it's fab. I love the coat.
ReplyDeleteHahahahahahaha...yes indeed Izabel! I love that idea "Starsky & Hutch hooker" brilliant.
DeleteI'm glad you changed your mind when you had a look :oP

Hahahahaha... that's hilarious Jess! XXX
DeleteI LOVE THIS COAT SO MUCH I HAVE TO CAPITALISE MY SENTENCE!!! (And also add a few exclamation marks at the end.) I have seen similar colourful faux fur coats on a few people but never knew what brand they were, can't believe yours is from M&S! I'm not traveling to anywhere cold anytime soon but ohhh that coat would be so dreamy to have in my own closet.
ReplyDeleteWhat you said about it: "...gives the illusion of an 'outfit' when there isn't really one happening at all" - I agree a 100% with you on the illusion part. Statement pieces tend to do that, don't they?
Faux fur + OTK boots = winning combo in my opinion when done right, and you did it right Samantha.
Hehehehehe... thank you for your Caps Lock sentence Liyana!
DeleteYou are very kind.
I was gobsmacked when I found this in the M&S sale. It's so not M&S-ish...LOL.
Unexpected for sure AND a bargain to boot.

That coat has always been a favourite of mine for you.
