Navy, Grey and Brown, a Classic Work Combination.

Navy ME&EM tapered trousers, Tobacco wool jumper, silver backless loafers, grey dune bucket bag | Workwear over 40.

Navy and Brown is a classic combination.

Navy and Brown is a classic combination isn't it?
Navy Gent's Suit + Brown Brogues.
Navy Wool Dress + Brown Leather Belt.
Navy Coat + Tan Knee Boots.
Timeless and so Easy.

{See some Navy and Brown outfits HERE, HERE and HERE... not so "classic" in style but still using the colour combination.}

BUT...
Sometimes the 'classics' can feel a bit boring, can't they?
We can get tired of the same-old, same-old.

Luckily, just the tiniest of tweaks can make your old combinations (and old clothes) seem fresh and updated.
Phew!

This jumper (and trousers) are certainly "Knocking on a bit".

In fact, this jumper is so old that it is bobbling quite badly and my de-fuzzer won't work on it anymore.
I'm afraid it has been shaved so many times it's about to disintegrate.
A strong gust of wind and I'll be wearing shreds!

However, bobbles aside, this jumper is such a versatile item and I still love it!
So, if you have ANY de-bobbling ideas and tricks PLEASE share them.
I would be so grateful!
Or, please break it to me gently if this jumper has had it's day 😢.

{I've tried a wool comb, electric de-fuzzer and even a bic razor!}

Silver Velvet Backless Loafers to the Rescue.

This Navy trouser/Brown jumper combination was calling out for something extra to lift it out of the doldrums.
So these silver velvet backless loafers came to the rescue!
{I can't seem to see past them these days... see them styled HERE.}

Like slippers, they are so comfortable and just happen to be "on trend".
A trend that is (reasonably) practical and wearable?
Result!

 Minimum Effort, Maximum Comfort.

Adding a silver/grey bucket bag, and a chunky necklace, finished things off nicely.
Minimum effort and maximum comfort.
My kind of outfit!

How do you "Jazz up" your classics?
Do you have any de-fuzzing tips you can share?

I would love to hear from you!

  1. I love the colour combo of this outfit. I especially love the necklace as it really ties the look together and gives it a contemporary feel. I do love your brown jumper so I can understand you not wanting to part with it! Although lately I've been quite ruthless and have donated loads of clothes to local charity bins! I must be in early spring cleaning mode even though it's still winter here!

    2. I feel the need to have a good clear out too, but I can't find a replacement for this old brown jumper. How cold is your winter weather Sasha? XXX

    3. Winter is so nice here! The coldest it gets over night is about 10 degrees Celsius and then is up to early twenties in the day. So it's t-shirt weather by day and jumper/cardigan weather by night! I own a few great jackets and coats but I can only wear them if I head south to Sydney or Melbourne!!
