Bold Stripes over 40 | Midi Dress and Flats.

Bold stripes are a classic spring look, aren't they?
Every year the classic breton (and various other striped items) are announced as the "New Spring Trend!".
Different coloured stripes.
Different thickness of stripes.
Mixing stripes.
Every possible combination!

Of course, we all know these trends are far from new but stripes are certainly Spring-like, bold and fun.
For me, wearing stripes means Spring has really arrived!

This outfit is as simple as it gets.
No muss.
No fuss.
Simple but still striking.
That's the great thing about stripes, they make a statement without too much effort!

A bold dress, like this one, needs little in the way of accessories but (of course) I could not help myself!
A few contrasting pieces were needed in order to add a little (more) interest to the look.

This ethnic necklace is bold and brings colour to my face.
Embroidered slippers make the "flat and comfy" part of my outfit seem less boring, and my fringed clutch finished things off nicely!

It's an easy, comfortable and simple outfit that does all of the work for me!

      I love these types of stripes for that reason Lisa. They are almost a colour in themselves because of the contrast.... and red is the classic mixer, isn't it? XXX

    This dress has a nicely designed bustling and looks really smashing on you Samantha. The ethnic red stone jewelry is exactly the type of thing I'm very drawn to and I think it and the fringed are unexpected and give an eclectic appeal to the outfit.
    I am also in love the embroidered ballet flats. You're a breath of fresh air Sam!!!

    I absolutely love this outfit, Samantha. I'm a huge fan of stripes too - and you're right, they do scream 'Spring is here!'. That dress is divine, especially on you. And I do like those shoes - you're lucky you have such long legs to be able to wear flats with dresses! LOVE!
