{August is the time I start getting excited about the new trends and stop wondering "Are we going to get a Summer this year?"... the answer is usually a firm "No!"}
To be honest, it is easy to get a feel for the autumn season, here in Scotland.
This year's summer didn't really come to very much, and although the days are not cold, the rain is never very far away.
Thinking about boots comes naturally!
I have had my eye on them since they launched, earlier in the year.
The £110 price tag seemed fair, but I had a feeling that they would be a little too "different" to sell well, and would definitely make their way into the sale.
I really wanted them, but didn't need them, so I was willing to bide my time.
(Why pay full-price, when you can pay less?)
I was hoping for a half price bargain, so when they hit the £44 mark, I was laughing.
I decided to stick to the utilitarian-inspired vibe, and wear green.
Layering my Baukjen dress (seen here, in London) under a sloppy t-shirt tunic.
This made for a comfortable and easy look.
A long necklace smartened things up a bit, and adds interest.
I appreciate that these boots will look much 'cooler' when they have been worn a few times (and I intend to be wearing them to death) but I HAD to share them as soon a they arrived.
They are my new favourites!
DRESSES: Fashion Union (similar) and Baukjen
NECKLACE: TkMaxx (similar)
SCARF: My Daughter's! (similar)
BAG: Primark (similar)
Do you spot items you fancy then hang around waiting for them to go on sale?
Or, do you snap up things you want as soon as you see them?
Please share your shopping tactics in the comments, or contact me.
I'd love to find out your shopping habits!

I can totally understand why you are in love with these boots. I want them myself. They look fab with that dress. Again great styling. I laughed over your remark in the London post about the necklace been broken just before taking the photo. I hate that happening too. About sale items. This year I had a fortunate buy with the lime coat by Karen Millen: 1/3 of the original price and I love it to death.

That lime coat is a stunner!! (If it is the belted one I have spotted online). Lime is a fabulous shade. Fresh and vibrant.
DeleteI am constantly having wardrobe malfunctions, Greetje! I think I might just be a little clumsy... this is why I am reluctant to spend "serious" cash on designer clothes. XXX :oD
I love the dress! Is it two dresses? Or a dress w a long-sleeve tee underneath? Either way, LOVE. And that necklace!
ReplyDeleteI can't won't even think about boots. Because with boots comes cold weather. And TIGHTS. The great impossibility of TIGHTS. They're a horror putting on. I will go bare-legged as long into the autumn as I can.
Tights. Ugh.
Bettye
Two dresses Bettye....I was going for the sloppy/comfy look.
DeleteYour comment about hating tights made me sad :o(
I LOVE tights.
I hate the thought of you dreading wearing them.
It is such a shame that you can't find ones to suit.
Is it a fit/sizing issue?
Do they dig in/wrinkle around the ankles and knees/pull in strange shapes on the leg?
Look online for Glamory or transparenze...the website I love is UKtights and they have loads of plus sized tights in every finish.
The "good brands" are really worth the extra money (they look and feel amazing)
Thank you for your comment Bettye. XXX
I like the sturdy looking the outfit! Great colors and the scarf and necklace go perfect with it! I never wait until an item is priced of, I should though!

I agree, Nancy!!
DeleteIf I REALLY want/need something I would buy it...especially if I thought it would sell out quickly. Sometimes though, I get a feeling that a bargain could be sniffed out!! :oP XXX

Thank you Jess, they are so comfy too! I love it when a shoe-plan works out. I get excited for the autumn season too...it feels like it is almost here. XXX
DeleteI rarely buy things that are not on sale - I would have done exactly what you did!
ReplyDeleteSo into these boots, omg. I love how Clarks are stepping up their game; most of their shoes are what I want in my collection - including these boots! The chunky heels are my favourite part, they look like a beautiful night sky.
My eyes are drawn directly downward to those very cool boots. Love the olive/black combo and the combat. I have an all black pair and love them! The olive dress a perfect match and the skull scarf, fun and bada** at the same time! sweet!
ReplyDeleteThanks for linking up with turning heads tuesday
