Vintage Spots and OTK (over the knee) Boots | Cold Spring Style

Grey Vintage Spotty Dress and OTK Boots | Fake Fabulous

I have to tell you that I'm not entirely sure this dress really IS vintage.
It was sold as vintage.
It LOOKS like vintage.

BUT... You know that feeling when something is not quite right?
A little niggle.
No tags.
No obvious modern touches but I still have my doubts.

However, regardless of its real age, I still LOVE it!

I love everything about this little dress, from the difficult little buttons you need to do up to get into it to the silly waist tie that serves no real purpose.
It's just a great dress that's fun to wear.

Today I'm styling it with some serious thermal baselayers... PLUS a pair of trusty OTK boots.

It might be March BUT its still freezing cold here!

As I'm layered up to the max I'm dreaming of warmer weather.
This dress is going to be great in the summer.

I am hopeful that some of my sandals may make an appearance sometime this year.
A dress like this throws open so many footwear possibilities!

We were lucky last summer (we had some lovely warm days) BUT you can never rely on summer being summer in Scotland.
Anything can happen!

Today cosy boots are the answer... and a BIG coat (not very blog-worthy!)

  2. It sure looks cute. Does it matter if it isn't vintage sometimes a dress feels so much nicer being a vintage style but made with modern fabrics. Love - Jill x

    1. No, it doesn't really matter does it Jill?
For the most part I do prefer the quality of vintage pieces... and the generous seams!! :o)

  3. I think it's from the 70s or possibly early 80s. It looks homemade. I'd call it vintage, Samantha.

I love the OTK boots - I have ones just like those! Hope you are having a good week!

  4. What is it about polka dots that they immediately evoke a little joy and also qualify as a classic pattern? The dress is so cute on you. Is it a knit fabric?

  6. This looks late 80's early 90's to me. Those little buttons were so popular at one time. Also if the fabric is rayon it is more likely 80s/90s. They stopped using so much rayon when 2000 came round.

Vintage or not the dress is darn cute.
