Blue, White and Silver | Autumn Outfit Idea

Blue White and Silver | Simple Autumn Outfit | Fake Fabulous

Today I'm sharing a simple autumnal outfit idea that goes against the 'traditional' autumn outfit colours.
(Naughty me!)

Much as I love mustard rust and burgundy, sometimes I feel the need to break free from the expected and wear something a little different.

This outfit still ticks all of my autumn-outfit-requirement boxes.
It's comfortable, warm and (most important) easy to wear.
I can't be bothered being restricted and squeezed... unless it's a very special occasion.

{Although... there is definitely nowhere to hide in a t-shirt dress. Undies need careful consideration! The smaller the pants the better.}

I'm sticking to light, bright and pale colours... just to feel a bit different!

A simple blue t-shirt dress with a layering shirt underneath.
This shirt is very fine and not bulky at all.
I tucked it (carefully) into my cosy tights to keep it in place.
Not very sexy but practical!

These tights are fun to wear and make me smile whenever I put them on.
Silver boots are a cheerful finishing touch!

What colours are you wearing at the moment?
Are you embracing the 'traditional' autumn shades or doing something a little different?
I'd love to hear all about it!

  1. There aren't many people who could pull this off, but you sure do! It IS a nice change from the autumnal colours (NOT ONE of which can I wear very well. I literally do not own a brown, mustard, or rust item!) but still looks totally seasonal. Those gloves are the icing on the cake for me. Gorgeous as ever, Sam. xxx

  3. You look fabulous in your dress! and the subtle color combo is totally amazing. I love particularly how your silver boots and silver necklaces bookend the whole outfit. I think it's a brilliant tip and you rock it!
I don't believe in 'seasonal colors' but it depends on what colors your coats/knits are, I think. I believe in keeping it colorful!

  4. Oh, yes, the challenge of the T-shirt dress! And you have conquered it. I laughed when you wrote how you have to be careful tucking in your shirt. I know the drill so well. Hahaha. The greys pop. There's no neutrality here at all. Shine on!!

    1. Strategic tucking!!! Some areas can take a little extra fabric... Tummys aren't one of them !! 😂

  5. This is smooth, subtle, calming, and SMASHING!! :-)
With a careful tuck , tights truly help to streamline and you nailed the "epitome of svelte" with this look. The silver booties and gloves add the cherry to top and bottom.

  6. I love silver, black and navy. You look great. Although I was a winter for nearly 3 decades, apparently (?! what the?) I'm a soft autumn - the colours of which do depress me

    1. I don't really understand it either.... I'm supposed to be a bright autumn but like cool colors too. I get so confused. X

  8. You are one of the lucky ones that can pull off such a look. I'd need to be wearing advanced level Spanx from my neck to my toes to do this.

The icy cool colours are an interesting take on fall. Love those silver booties!
