Hard Snow and a Spring Chicken!

Navy Wool Skirt, Rust and Lemon | Fake Fabulous | Style over 40

On some days taking blog photos is more of a challenge than others.
Today was one of those days!

Navy Wool Skirt, Rust and Lemon | Fake Fabulous | Style over 40

I LOVE snow... especially the proper "fluffy" stuff that's perfect for making snowmen.
Great for playing in, not so great for fashion photographs!

Today I'm wearing my "Spring Chicken" jumper.
A fluffy spring-like lemon jumper that reminds me of baby chicks and spring days!
Ironic, considering it's freezing cold and I'm getting covered in snow.

Lemon goes perfectly with navy and orange (well, I think so anyway) and this outfit is just the ticket for a cold winter's day!
Lots of secret layers (including 2 pairs of cosy tights) and thermals!

NAVY WOOL SKIRT: Boden (old)... Similar
LEMON FLUFFY JUMPER: River Island (charity shopped)... Similar

  1. you're my heroine, facing up to snow to take your pictures!, and looking so fabulous meanwhile!
Love your lemon jumper (such a cool texture!) and I agree on orange and navy looking awesome together! You rock! (Glad that you're wearing thermals and all the right stuff to keep you warm and comfy!)

  2. I think the pictures work really well! Great colour combination too. I am now regretting recently donating my own yellow fluffy chick jumper to a charity shop... I had a frenzied clear-out and deemed it surplus to requirements. Maybe I can buy it back from the shop... 😂

  3. You must have been FREEZING your arse off, Samantha!! LOL... you are so brave to go out in the snow without all your now gear on. I love the pics - and the spring chicken top if gorgeous. I do like fluffy tops. Adding the throw / cardie over the top is spot on :)

I wasn't really very cold TBH... it seemed warmer when it was snowing than on the frosty days.
I was enjoying it too much to notice anyway :oP #bigkid

  5. I always marvel at how you can pile on the layers and still look so svelte. Most of us would fluff right up! Your sweat yellow chick sweater looks so pretty in the snow along with the cute leopard hat. There's something magical about braving the snow for a wintery wonderland photograph. Your smile tells me that it was chilly but worth it! You look so pretty Sam!

    1. Thank you Bettye... Mustards and yellows feel so good with navy, which can be a bit boring can't it?
I'm so glad you like my husband's photos... he was pleased (and surprised) with how they turned out. XXX

  9. I LOVE SNOW TOOOO. I'm currently in Seoul where it snowed yesterday and I had the best time playing about in it - AND I also got a photoshoot out of it!

I'm very, very much into "spring chicken" items, the only reason I don't own a lot of them is because of my country's weather.

This outfit is "chic" head-to-toe, Samantha. By the way, lemon + orange + navy = lovely combination in my opinion too <3

  10. These fluffy jumpers look cute Liyana... but it's like wearing a fluffy plastic bag, if I'm being honest.
Okay in colder weather but a sweaty nightmare otherwise!! :oP
