Playsuits & Compression Tights (Yes, really!)

Compression tights and playsuits... could there be two items further apart when it comes to fashion and style?!
{I laughed as I typed that}

Surely playsuits are for teenagers, and compression tights are for the decrepit!
Who, in their right mind, would put the two together and pass them off as an outfit?

Hmmmmm...
Well, Hello there!
Have we met? 😉

First of all... playsuits are for anyone who likes them, whether you're 19 or 90, and compression tights are for anyone that needs them, at any age.
The actual numbers don't matter a jot!

It's no secret that I'm a HUGE fan of hosiery so when Scholl contacted me to ask if I would be interested in trying their new 'Light Legs'  tights I was more than happy to agree!

For half of my week I work in a clinical chemistry laboratory, and spend most of the day on my feet.
I'm either standing at a bench, or leaning over a huge analyser and my legs can suffer.

I get that weird feeling of heaviness, and my legs get wriggly, fidgety and twitchy.... I call it the jiffles!
It's not a nice feeling at all.
Anyone who is on their feet all day will know exactly what I mean.
It's not an age thing, it's a busy working woman thing!

So, for me, any hosiery that claims to help is definitely worth a try.

What Scholl say about Light Legs 60 Denier...
  • New Scholl Light Legs tights with graduated compression helps boost circulation along the entire length of the legs to help prevent tired & achy legs.
  • Fibre Firm™ technology provides gradual compression that has been scientifically proven to reduce tiredness and heaviness by boosting circulation with targeted pressure from the ankle upwards, for that light feeling from AM to PM.
  • Comfortable and Breathable, you barely notice you are wearing them!

  • Helps boost circulation and gives you perfectly shaped legs.

  • Last up to 100 washes without losing shape, colour or compression.

I was very intrigued and couldn't wait to give them a go!

The tights are a lovely 'true' black and are super soft to the touch.
They fit really nicely over the bum and are comfortable and secure at the waist.
No slippage or baggy crotch, so no need for that unsightly yanking up that we sometimes have to do!

I decided to really put them to the test by pairing them with this fab little playsuit that I picked up a local boutique.
There's nowhere for my legs to hide in this number!

I'm well aware that some people might think 43 is a little too 'long in the tooth' for a playsuit, but I don't care very much TBH.
I like playsuits, and that's all that matters.
Plus, what better way is there to test out a pair of tights? 😛

I decided to keep the outfit monochrome (apart from a touch of red!) and play up the stripes by adding a belt, and shoes to continue the theme.
Such a simple look to put together and (aside from those unbuttoning in the loo issues) easy to wear.

The best thing about these tights is that they don't LOOK or FEEL like compression tights.
Long gone are those ugly support tights with stiff feet and wrinkly ankles.
These tights kept their shape all day, and my feet were really comfortable.

If you want to give these tights a go you can get 1/3 off Scholl Light Legs with the code LightLegs13 (valid until 1st January 2018)

Do you get jiffly legs like me?

  5. The first question that popped into my head: what are compression tights?? As I continued to read I think I have a better idea of them, and I actually have heard of them too, but here they're known as...well, something else, I can't even recall the name!

Honestly, the ones you have here look just like any other pair of tights I've seen. They're pretty cute too - but then again, Samantha, you do have such slender long legs, so all things look good on you! I bet if you wear the striped bumblebee tights from the movie 'Me Before You', you'd look amazing in them!

  7. I just love your feisty resolve on all queations of what women should, or should not be wearing at "their age". You always have just the right turn of phrase to convince the hypercritical rule makers otherwise. Thank you for that Sam!!!
I love you in this and those tights look perfect (as do your long shapely legs) with the little romper. Those shoes are adding such a nice pattern repeat and the heart on your collar sweetly sings of loving kindness.:-):-)
