Outdoor Style | Waterproofs & Walking boots

Lighthouse waterproof jacket, Kettlewell yellow jumper, coated jeans & Walking boots | Fake Fabulous

If you're a fan of outdoor activities, and love being in the open air, then you know that fashion needs to take a back seat... and practicality must rule the day.

However, even though outdoor wear has to be practical, there is never any need to be boring, dull or frumpy.
You can easily add colour, and even a nod to your personal style!

Today I'm sharing what I've been wearing (almost) every day this week.

Okay, not the same clothes (I'm getting pretty muddy most days) but the same basic shapes.... and these old boots haven't been off my feet!

Days climbing hills, walking through woods and visiting lochs.
Evenings eating wholesome food, reading old books and relaxing.
Pure bliss.

Packing was simple...
A waterproof coat.
Walking boots.
Coated jeans.
Cosy jumpers.
Various thermal layers, including long janes!
And wooly socks.
Job done.

COAT: c/o Lighthouse... now on sale!
JUMPER: c/o Kettlewell Colours
JEANS: River Island... similar.
BOOTS: So old I can't remember!... try these.
THERMAL TOP: Uniqlo... this is nice.

Do you love being outdoors, in nature, or are you a city girl?
Or, are you (like me) a lover of both?
Please let me know by leaving a comment.
I love hearing from you!

  1. I do a lot of hill walking and try to keep the hiking gear stylish, though it's a challenge at times - why don't the manufacturers wake up and shake it up a bit? Your boots look cool, mine are definitely more utilitarian! (But they do the job so I love them).

    1. I Like these old one's Gail.... I think the fact they are all-leather makes me love them more.
The modern 'colourful' styles are not as good (in my opinion).

    1. I'm happiest on my own, outside in the quietness.
Unfortunately, the 'on my own' and 'in quietness' are hard to come by with a gaggle of children, husband and dog :oP

  4. I'm a city girl, so I have a lot of problems when I have to pick my clothes for excursions, I feel that my wardrobe is pretty inadequate!. I think that a pair of not-deadly-boring boots, and a waterproof coat in a bold color are all I need. Just what you're wearing in this post, with your usual fabulousness!!
It's lovely to see you enjoying some outdoor activities and looking cool and relaxed!
