Red & Navy BOLD stripes | Autumn Capsule Outfit

Autumn Capsule Style | Bold Work Look | Navy, Blue & Red.

I'm back in my Autumn Capsule Wardrobe here.... and no cheating involved this time!

Autumn Capsule Style | Bold Work Look | Navy, Blue & Red.

This outfit proves that a capsule does NOT need to be neutral, plain and dull.
Capsule-based outfits can be colourful and even bold!

This skirt is a statement in itself and needs minimal 'primping and preening' in order to make an interesting outfit.

(See it previously HERE, HERE and HERE)

So today I simply added navy tights and these fab booties to my bottom half, and a blue shirt on top.
A belt and brooches were all the "extras" I needed to feel pulled together.

Outfits should be easy, shouldn't they?

This is such a comfortable, and 'appropriate' outfit.
When I say appropriate, I mean occasion appropriate of course.... nothing to do with age!
In fact, I think this is a pretty ageless look.

What do you think?

  2. Ah, this outfit looks great on you! Btw, what is your trick in keeping the belt at its place on a skirt without loops? Mine tends to woble up and down.

    1. Oh Sam! This is just a thrilling outfit! The vibrancy of the blue and red just vibrates with excitement. I think this is the kind of styling that is uncomplicated but SMASHING!!!!
The shoes and bag are also really really special Samantha. I'm so glad that you included a closeup because these items are just so cool!!!! The houndstooth mixed plaid print is so unique and really special. One of the most perfect outfits ever!

    2. Joze, thank you so much!
      As for the belt....
This skirt is a thick pointe fabric and the waistband is relatively thick... also a bit too big on the waist for me.
The belt holds it up (and in) and because the fabric is sturdy it doesn't move.
If it was a thinner fabric I would just make sure the belt was snug enough and below the band, if that makes sense?

  3. You look fab, and I love the boots & bag. I wish I could wear a pleated skirt but being a pear I feel they make my hips look even bigger :(

    1. Thank you so much Floss.... but I MUST disagree with you!
A big skirt, like this one, looks amazing on a pear because there is so much volume that no one can tell what's skirt and what's bum and hips!
Big skirts look beautiful on pear shapes because of your enviable waist and beautiful proportions.
Give one a go.... you might surprise yourself!
