Goodbye Summer, Hello Autumn | 7 Favourites

7 Favourite Summer Outfits | Fake Fabulous

It's officially Autumn!
Okay, not really...
Autumn (in Scotland) officially starts on the 22nd, but the 1st of September always feels like autumn to me (despite it being 18 degrees today, and the warmest it's been for ages!)

Today feels like the perfect time to think about my favourite Summer outfits.

Please feel free to disagree with my choices!
I would love to hear your opinion.

1. Wearable Boho

7 Favourite Summer Outfits | Fake Fabulous

This outfit was a really wearable boho-inspired look.
Perfect for anyone who loves the idea of boho but doesn't fancy the full-on flounce of outfits like THIS and THIS.
Comfortable and practical.

2. Can you Wear White to a Wedding?

Find out if I wore this white outfit to a wedding (or not) by clicking through the link in the title.
What are your thoughts on wearing white to a wedding?

What about vinyl leggings, like the pair I wore in THIS POST to a wedding reception!?
(yes, really!)

3.  Denim A-line Skirt & Kiwis?

7 Favourite Summer Outfits | Fake Fabulous

This outfit isn't anything edgy, or particularly special, but it was the first time I really enjoyed wearing this denim skirt.
(See this skirt styled in other ways HERE and HERE.)
This blouse also started a discussion on Instagram about kiwis, cucumbers or green tomatoes!

4. Red & Black Work Outfit

This is such a simple and comfortable outfit, perfect for work.
With just enough personality to feel like an individual.
A close second favourite of mine!
What do you think?

5. How to Tone Down a Too Tight Dress

7 Favourite Summer Outfits | Fake Fabulous

This coral dress was initially a write-off.
A waste of money, and almost unwearable... unless I was on a beach somewhere.
I felt pretty bare and exposed in it.
Too short.
Too tight.
Luckily, the green tunic (also styled HERE) saved the day, and I ended up loving this outfit!

6. 4 Ways to Wear ANY Colour Combination

7 Favourite Summer Outfits | Fake Fabulous

This post was all about (so called) fashion colours, colour combinations and how to make ANY combo work for you.
There are (almost) no rules.
Have fun with your personal style, and be yourself!

7. Colour Blocking in 3 Easy Steps

This outfit was my favourite of the season!
Such a simple selection of pieces; Jumper, trousers, bag & shoes.
Each of them a little special.
My cosy cashmere jumper.
My (current) favourite trousers.
THE best shoes I've bought for a white.
And, this bold and beautiful bag.
A colour-fest!

The bold colours elevate this look from "meh" to something worth wearing!
Find out how to colour block with ease HERE.

Do you agree with my choices and my favourite (number 7)?

  1. Impossible choice as your every outfit is perfection. I can only say that I love 3, 5, 6 and 7 the most. And still love the others.

    1. Hahahaha...thank you Kathleen!
You are very kind to say so.

  2. Number 7 is my favorite as well. It inspired me to ho in search of yellow jeans and I'm sure you're quite relieved to hear that I've secured those! :-) I was however, unhappy to find that I missed a couple of these outfits!!!
I hope Fall in Scotland is beautiful Samantha. I am looking forward to seeing your Fall looks as I consider these your most flattering color palette.

    1. Thank you Judy.
I'm glad you found your perfect yellow breeks!
Autumn IS pretty in Scotland... my favourite season for so many reasons.
The colours as well as the wild weather!

  3. Number 7 is totally my favourite. I leaps off the page! It is so joyful! It screams SAM! The others are super too, but I adore this one. The colours are so arresting. xxx

    1. Thank you Lisa!
It's the most simple outfit too... no fuss, just a jumper and trousers.
I love the fact that colour does all of the work sometimes.... a bit like sequins!!! :oP

  4. Number 7 is absolutely brilliant! But I am also really loving Number 5! I have some dresses like that and I may try your trick! So many great outfits, Sam. And such pretty colors! I love the boldness of it all.

    1. Thank you Shelbee.
The top over dress trick works a treat!
Just a little more covered up and less need to pull and tug things back into place :oP.

  5. Number 7 is my favourite too! I love the way the colour of each item matches the colours in your shoes. Those shoes are just so gorgeous and really tie the outfit together perfectly! XXX

    1. Thank you Sasha!
      I'm so glad you agree.
These shoes have been a great buy as they seem to go with everything... even if they don't actually go at all! :oD

  6. I Do love your color blocking!, and your shoes!, I think that they're the key piece to create a lot of color combos!, and you look gorgeous in your colorful outfit!
And I also love (particularly) number 5, the coral dress under a green piece, so original and really modern shape!
    Such an inspiring recap!

    1. Thank you so much Monica!
I think that if no.5 had been a little more comfortable and easy going it might have been my favourite too. :o)

  7. Girl---you really put together the best outfits!! You change it up and don't get tied down in one style or another!!
This is why I love reading your blog so much, Samantha!!!
And thanks for linking up with the Ageless Style group!

  8. I adore your style. No two outfits are alike and yet they are all true to you. Thank you for sharing your style genius on my Fine-Whatever link up.

  9. They all look great and I really love the bright color blocked outfit Sam. Those olive pants in the first post are so cool... I just love the dark rich color leading to Fall.
    thanks for linking!
