This is part 2 of my simple work-to-party look.
All you need to do is pop to the ladies room, and 5 minutes later you can be ready to party!
I started the day like this...
See the original post here, and find out the story behind this little vintage gem.
Getting ready to party is so easy.
Simply remove the blouse (or whatever you choose to wear) and apply some luminous body lotion to arms, decolletage and shoulders.
This can give the skin a subtle glow.
My cream was a sample sachet from inside a magazine, and had a lovely scent.
Samples and testers are great to keep in your bag for moments like this one!
Freshening up makeup only takes a few moments, and applying lipstick is the perfect "party ready" touch.
I always need a layer of warmth, so a fluffy cardigan over my shoulders is essential.
Changing my tights from the cosy wool pair to these fun ones (with gold lurex thread) adds a little 'something' to this otherwise plain outfit.
My favourite party shoes are also velvet, and have large jewelled bows, adding more sparkle and fun!
This beautiful velvet dress has it's own little surprise too!
An unusual lace-up back.
Very subtle, but very effective.
Simple gold earrings, and a beaded clutch, finishes things off nicely.
What are your ready-to-party essentials?

Lovely outfit, Samantha. For day and for evening. Love the jumper with the blouse. I bet you get a ton of wear out of it! Now that I'm retired, I don't have to worry about going from day/work to eveningwear... it's straight from my sweats to my party outfit:)
ReplyDeleteThat must be so much simpler Susan! :oD XXX
DeleteLove this Sam! both ways. The leopard blouse is something I have on my "want" lis t for my closet. I love how the back laces up, the shimery clutch and the fancy tights with jeweled shoes. Fab!!

Thank you Jess! Yes, a leopard blouse is a great piece to have... it's a neutral after all! :oP XXX
DeleteThis is a beautiful transition from work to party play Samantha! You look just lovely. Does that lace up back make it fit your curves so nicely (?) I haven't ever worn velvet in a fitted dress version so I don't really have any idea how forgiving the fit is... I also love those tights. They add a lot to the festive, sparkly feel and look warm as well!
ReplyDeleteThe velvet has no stretch but the laces DO work to pull in and fit the body. My gorgeously curvy friend had to let them out top and bottom to fit fabulous feminine curves and a teeny waist. No wonder this was her husband's favourite :oP XXX
DeleteOh wow...an absolutely STUNNING party look, dear Samantha!! I love the surprise of those lurex tights, and your royal blue velvet shoes are, quite simply, "holiday perfection!!" The best part of all?? That you managed to create this festive outfit from an office-appropriate version with a few simple accessories switch-ups!! :)

DeleteI thought you looked dressed up enough to go out in the previous outfit! But, wow, this really is glam and it shoes the dress in a very different way! Kx
ReplyDeleteHahaha...thank you! You are very kind. XXX
DeleteWhat a seamless transition you made this Samantha. I love the cheeky lace up detail of the dress, as well as the addition of your glitter tights. A simple turnaround yet hugely effective. Bravo!
