Some lucky people can rely on a daily dose of warmth, and sunshine.
Others, are sweltering in unbearable humidity, or relentless blistering sun.
For anyone living in Britain, you often need to check the weather forecast (a few times) in the morning, just to plan an afternoon trip.
The British weather is predictably unpredictable!
I am not normally a big fan of lilac (or pastels) but the colours in this scarf seemed to work perfectly with these sailor-style trousers, and made a great partner for this blush-coloured top.
{See the trousers styled here, (with more stripes) and the top, here, with some fun shoes!}
Having said that, they are perfect for a casual outfit.
The linen is very heavyweight, so the creases that form seem more deliberate and less 'crumpled' looking.
{See this post about linen at work}
It was easy to make a deliberate 'look' by popping on some black gutties, and my favourite necklace.
When looking through the photos, I realised that my bag was hidden in every shot.
Luckily, my husband had taken this secret snap of me talking (yes, really... Saying "Hello Beezees!") to the bees, and hover-flies, on the Hebe.
I am such a geek, at times!
High humidity?
Blistering heat, and constant sunshine?
Perfect warm days, and balmy evenings?
Or, crazy pot-luck weather?
Please share in the comments, I love hearing from you!

I live in a mediterranean island where summer means very hot and sunny weather (40 degrees celcium)! We can't wait for some Autumn!
ReplyDelete40 degrees!!! wowzers.
DeleteThat is a little too much.
I get excited if we are up to 25....it's 15 today...but the sun is shining and the grass is green, so I'm not complaining :oD
Autumn is a great season.
The colours are gorgeous. XXX
This outfit seems perfect for unpredictable weather. Those pants are very cut. I recently purchased two pairs that are quite similar. I still have quite an allegiance to my skinny jeans but I've always liked a wide leg and a vertical stripe.
ReplyDeleteAs for your favorite necklace; it's a favorite of mine as well. I even have a notion that I can craft one... I'll let you know how that goes.
Your hair is taking shape too Samantha!
What style are you aiming for?

Skinny jeans are addictive I think, Judy! I sometimes can't see past them.
DeleteGetting into new shapes is a great idea. (Send me a shot of your wide trousers?)
I am sure Tatty Devine post worldwide, if you fancy one of these necklaces too.
Although, making one sounds fun and creativity is good for the soul :oD
Thank you for noticing my hair...I am not sure what I am doing or where it is going yet. I just told my hairdresser that I wanted to grow it (for now) and to take away the lego-like chunky bits....are remove any sign of a mullet. :oP XXX
Love this outfit Samantha - the trousers look fabulous on you and the way you combined everything is supper nice!

Thanks Yvonne. These trousers are years old and I (once) almost gave them to charity! Doh. Luckily, I fished them back out of the black bag! This style seems to come back year after year. XXX
DeleteWhat an interesting color combo Samantha!!
ReplyDeleteThe lilac and melon really work well together---of course stealing (umm, I mean borrowing) your daughter's scarf really pulls it together perfectly!
I love linen...and so be it when it gets wrinkled (hey, I'm wrinkled too, so I guess loving wrinkles is a good thing?)
Layers is the way to go with unpredictable weather!! But truly the weather isn't always the issue---just going into stores or restaurants requires more clothing in our neck of the woods!!

Hahaha...I love your comment about loving wrinkles Jodie! Fab.
DeleteWe tend not to have any air-conditioning issues here. Most shops just have a heater that blows hot air over the doorway to keep the chill out! :oP XXX
Great trousers and the colors of the top and cardigan go very well together. Inever noticed the nose ring!
ReplyDeleteThank you Nancy. I have worn a stud in my nose since I was about 25, or so. I will never take it out now....maybe I will need a bigger one as I get older? Bigger and sparklier, to distract from any wrinkles ;oP XXX
DeleteThis is an adorable outfit Samantha. Perfect for a Scottish summer's day I'm sure. I like the stripes of the trousers being echoed in your pastel top. Sailor trousers are so very flattering even if they're in linen. This is a lovely casual look. I'm about to post my version of casual on Friday and I look very scruffy in comparison!

I doubt that Anna! hahaha Thank you!! XXX
DeleteThis looks really cool. I just loved your color combination. This is something unique and classy. I'll definitely try this once.
ReplyDeleteThank you so much. XXX
Deletemwahah, we enjoy a fab crazy pot-luck weather, even if I live in the (proverbial) sunny Spain!. We've had 37ºc one day and 22ºc next one, because there are heat waves but also sudden northern winds. You need sleeveless shirts and a trench, sometimes in the same day!. But summer is still here to stay, and I'm used to wear sandals until september ends.
ReplyDeleteLove your striped pants (they looked so fabulous mixed with your striped top!) and love how you style them with pastels and your cute sneakers!
besos
I had no idea Monica! I assumed spain would be tepid in winter, warm in spring and autumn and HOT in summer. XXX
