Paisley Pencil Skirt and Tan Clogs. Easy Daywear.

Fake Fabulous | Paisley pencil skirt, coral jumper, tweed bag and tan clogs.

These shots were taken way back in March, in preparation for a PPP post about the paisley skirt I'm wearing (belonging to Anna).
Unfortunately, due to one thing and another, the paisley skirt post was shelved.

However, I really liked the look of this outfit, and these photographs!
{A sunny spring day, in Scotland, is a beautiful thing.}

So, these images were sitting on my computer, unused but too nice to 'trash'.
Then something happened...

I was in town recently, and the (very) old necklace in these photos snapped... sending countless beads flying in every direction.
Unfindable.
Unfixable.

{The same thing happened to another necklace when I was in London, but I saved that one!}

I had worn these wooden beads many times over the years, but had never used them on the blog, and I felt quite sad about that.
What a shame.
This necklace was lost forever.

Then I remembered the photos of the unused paisley skirt.
My necklace was captured on film afterall!

As the skirt is no longer being used for our group post, I've decided to share this look with you.
I love the simplicity of an outfit like this one.

A patterned skirt, vest top and jumper.
What could be easier?

Adding my wooden necklace (and clogs) kept things from getting too formal.
A subtle pattern clash (from my bag) finished things off nicely!

I thought I would leave you with this shot of me doing what I do best...
Taking a drink of tea between shots!

Have you ever had a necklace (or bracelet) snap when you were out?
Could you fix it?
Or, was it lost forever?

  1. Such a shame about the necklace as it is a real beauty.

The whole outfit is great and I'd happily wear it all : )

I haven't had a necklace break but I have had a brooch break while I was wearing it. I managed to fix it for now.

    1. I am glad you managed to fix your brooch Suzanne.
An old one of mine (I think I wore it in my 'shopping the sales like a pro' post) snapped in half...for no real reason. Weird. Unfixable.
I hope your brooch stays in one piece!

  2. The color of the sweater is beautiful and it looks great on the skirt! What a pitty that the necklace broke. It looks like one that you can wear on so many outfits. Have a great Sunday!

    1. It was Nancy. I felt sad watching it roll about the street, disappearing down the drain and into the gutter...such a shame. Although it gives me an excuse to look for another! :oD XXX

    1. Thank you, you are very kind.
Unfortunately this skirt is not mine and I don't know where it is from. I did try to search for something similar BUT there was nothing to be found. My "get the look" section had to make do with getting the feel of the outfit, not the actual skirt....which is a shame.
If you ever find anything similar please let me know!
I would like one of my own :oD

  6. Hiya Sam,

I loved this skirt, and I too plan to use my pics at some point. I'll let you know when I do--I chose different colors to highlight. Paisley and colorful, this is totally my kind of skirt! I'm so glad you chose to post the pics.

And, I am so sad about your necklace. You'll always know it still lives on here! Yes to the necklace fiasco for me. Sometimes I just hold on to a piece or two never knowing how I might use it. In fact, I have an one earring from my sister's wedding--I'm waiting for the other sister to lose hers so we'll at least be able to make a pair to share. (I guess I may have just jinxed her! Op!!)

I love that you chose to highlight the salmon pink in this lovely skirt of Anna's.

  8. So lovely to see your take on this Samantha. The skirt was from H&M quite a while ago, but has worn really well. I love that you found a colour to highlight that I wouldn't have considered. Your clogs work really well with this look too. It's always a bit sad when a favourite bit of jewellery breaks. I suppose nothing lasts forever eh?

  9. Great look!! I've been a sucker for paisley of all kinds since the early 70s! The sweater/jumper is so good with your hair color. This outfit is kind of an ode to the coming of autumn!
